National Conference on “India@2047: Role of Higher Education in Making India a Developed Nation”

The Education Promotion Society for India (EPSI) organized a National Conference on “India@2047: Role of Higher Education in Making India a Developed Nation” on Friday, 29th August 2025, at Hotel Taj Krishna, Hyderabad. The event brought together eminent academicians, policymakers, and education leaders from across the country to deliberate on the transformative role of higher education in achieving India’s vision of becoming a developed nation by 2047. The conference began with registration and networking sessions, followed by the lighting of the lamp and Saraswati Vandana, marking an auspicious start to the day’s proceedings.
The Introductory Session featured distinguished speakers including Dr. Sekar Viswanathan, Vice President, EPSI and Vice President of VIT University, who delivered the welcome address; and Dr. H. Chaturvedi, Alternate President, EPSI and Director General of IILM Institute for Higher Education, who introduced EPSI and its initiatives in promoting quality higher education. The Keynote Address was delivered by Prof. V. Balakista Reddy, Chairman, Telangana Council of Higher Education, while Dr. Vedprakash Mishra, Sr. Vice President, EPSI and Pro Chancellor, Datta Meghe Institute of Higher Education & Research, presented the Theme Address, emphasizing policy interventions and institutional reforms needed for India’s academic excellence.
The post-lunch sessions featured two panel discussions that stimulated insightful dialogues on future-ready higher education. The first panel on “Re-imagining Indian Higher Education for Global Competitiveness” included notable speakers such as Dr. R.V.R. Krishna Chalam, Dr. Uma Ananda Dagnino G, Prof. G. Shankar Lingam, Prof. V. N. Rajasekharan Pillai, and Prof. C. Muthamizhchelvan, moderated by Shri Sudhakar Rao, Director, ICFAI Group. The second session on “Empowering Institutions for India@2047” brought together Dr. P. N. Razdan, Dr. Mahalakshmi K. Rangarajan, Shri Narayanan Ramaswamy, Dr. K. Sundararaman, Dr. Archana Mantri, and Ms. Richa Singh, with Shri Hemant Sahal, Founder & CEO of Digii, serving as moderator.
