Two-day National Conference on “Making Indian Higher Education Globally Competitive”

EPSI, in collaboration with COMEDK, hosted a two-day National Conference on “Making Indian Higher Education Globally Competitive” on 22nd–23rd December 2023 in Bengaluru. The event celebrated EPSI’s 18 years of service and gathered leading academicians, policymakers, and industry experts to discuss quality enhancement, skill development, and global benchmarking in Indian higher education.
The two-day National Conference was inaugurated on 22nd December 2023 by Dr. M. C. Sudhakar, Hon’ble Minister of Higher Education, Government of Karnataka. The event also featured a special interactive session with Prof. T.G. Sitharam, Chairman of AICTE, which provided valuable insights into the ongoing reforms and innovations in technical education.
On 23rd December, the valedictory session was graced by Shri Pralhad Joshi, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Government of India, as the Chief Guest, and Dr. Sharan Prakash Patil, Minister for Medical Education, Karnataka, as the Guest of Honour. Key issues addressed included the acute shortage of qualified faculty across institutions, the urgent need to standardize evaluation systems, and the importance of enhancing research quality. Dr. Sudhakar also stressed the necessity of upgrading infrastructure and integrating internships in government engineering colleges to make students industry-ready. He advocated for a thoughtful, vision-driven approach to implementing the State Education Policy, setting the tone for long-term educational reform.
The event reaffirmed EPSI’s commitment to educational reform and private sector engagement.
